Looking For Time Freedom As A Mum By Running Your Own Business?

Health & Wellness, Mother Circles, Notes, Resources

Balancing family life with a career is a priority for many mums. It might be your priority. You might be keen to get out of your existing job, not have one right now or feel a sense of dread about going back after maternity leave. Freedom of time was what I needed and it was a big drive for me in setting up my business. If you’re looking for time freedom as a mum by running your own business Mother Circles are an answer.

Finding a job that aligns with your personal values and also provides flexibility and financial reward is challenging, but possible. Have you thought about running your own business so you only work during school hours? I run all my Mother Circles & retreats for mums during the school day which means that I can drop off and pick up my daughters. This means I get the reward of meaningful and financially successful work without compromising family time or feeling overwhelmed.

Let me share how you can find time freedom as a mum by running your own business.

What is a Mother Circle Guide?

A Mother Circle Guide leads small groups of mums – with or without their babies – in supportive gatherings, called Mother Circles. Here we talk about the joys and challenges of motherhood without fear of judgement. All emotions are welcome and everyone supports each other. They are gorgeous. Each Circle is a safe space for mums to share experiences, build connections and receive emotional support. They can be structured or allowed to flow and your role is to set and safely hold everyone in that space.

In today’s busy, often isolating world, Mother Circles have become a valued resource for many mums. By becoming a Guide, you create a haven of support, empowerment, and community for women. Motherhood is one of life’s biggest changes and one that we are often the least prepared for.

This work changes lives. It’s important. It also gives you significant time flexibility and income opportunities – no more having to worry about missing those assemblies or worrying about what to do when your child is poorly. Your clients are other mums and they understand if something has to be cancelled.

Flexibility That Fits Around Family Life

One of the standout advantages of being a Mother Circle Guide is the flexibility it offers. No more rigid working hours. Guiding Mother Circles means you set your own timetables giving you the time freedom you need. You can hold your Mother Circles around family commitments, school drop-offs, or nap schedules, making it easy to balance your role as a business owner with all the other things you are needed for.

If evenings work best, you can host Women’s Circles then; if mornings or weekends are preferable, those are options too. The freedom to customise your working hours to suit your life and family’s needs means you don’t sacrifice time with loved ones or miss out on important family moments. You get time freedom as a mum by running your own business.

Meaningful Work Without Feeling Overwhelmed

Motherhood can be a full-time job on its own, and the idea of adding your own business to the mix can feel daunting. I can help you manage all of this by sharing proven structures and resources.

You can hold regular or one off Mother Circles that are manageable for you. Be in control and vary their frequency, depending on your availability and goals. You don’t need to stretch yourself thin; instead, you can decide how many Circles or retreats you want to lead. This way, your not taking on too much or feeling overextended.

Building a Supportive Community for Other Mums

Running a mum-focused business that provides a space for emotional and social support is incredibly rewarding. As a Mother Circle Guide, you play a significant role in strengthening your community by helping mums connect and share with one another. Motherhood can often be isolating, and having a support network makes all the difference. I get such a buzz from watching friendships develop and love hearing stories of mums still in touch years later.

Earning an Income While Making a Difference

One of the biggest challenges you might be feeling is replacing any existing income you have. Working as a Mother Circle Guide gives you a really flexible way to earn money in your time. I earned £5,000 a month from my Circle & retreat business when it was the focus of what I did. Like anything, it takes planning and dedication and that’s why I’ve created this beautiful business in a box for you.

The unique structure of this business allows you to monetise your skills and create a steady income through group sessions, private listening sessions and even wellbeing retreats for mothers and women.

Room for Growth and Diversification

Another advantage of becoming a Mother Circle Guide is the potential for growth. While you can start with smaller, local Circles, there’s room to expand your offerings. For example, you could branch out by hosting themed retreats, online circles or additional services, like wellness workshops and a listening space. You’ll get all the mentoring and resources you need from me.

This flexible business model allows you to explore different avenues as your interests and availability change, giving you more control over your career path. Many Guides also find that they can build their networks over time, creating a steady flow of mums and women through referrals and word of mouth. It gets easier to market your business over time.

Maintaining Balance and Avoiding Burnout

Getting time freedom as a mum by running your own business is about more than just scheduling; it’s about creating a fulfilling role that fits with your life and values in a way that feels good and doesn’t wear you out. It has to be aligned. Avoiding burnout is a priority and the Mother Circle Guide role offers balance.

By setting your own pace, establishing clear boundaries, and choosing what you want to offer, you’ll be fulfilled without exhaustion. This flexibility is essential for maintaining a healthy work-life balance, particularly when your work involves supporting others. You need to look after yourself.

Is Running a Mother Circle Right for You?

If you’re looking for a flexible, mum-focused business that allows you to contribute financially while making a positive impact, then – yes – it might be. This role brings together the best aspects of meaningful work, income potential, and family-friendly flexibility, offering a balanced career choice that aligns with both your passion and personal needs.
