FOR MANDY’S CLASSES AND CIRCLES
My success is down to the amazing mums who join my Circles.
Read their thoughts and comments below – they will give you an honest insight into our community and how each class and Circle feels.
As a first time mother to be and feeling slightly overwhelmed a lot of the time with what to expect etc. These sessions have brought to life real life scenarios from mothers from all walks of life and has built my confidence and knowledge up.
I don’t feel judged when talking out loud about any issues I am experiencing. Instead, I feel like Mandy has really built a support network in which we could relate to one another.
As mums it’s really hard to dedicate a couple of hours to yourself no matter how much you try, the sessions were a great way to completely shut off from day to day responsibilities and just focus on ourselves without distractions.
Also, I find the weekly check-ins really helpful as we can safely have a rant and feel like everyone else in the room understands where we are coming from and is supportive.
Monday evenings were the one time a week during my pregnancy that was just for me and my baby. Away from the demands and stress of my toddler and work, I could relax and share my emotions and feelings in a totally safe and supportive place and felt a lot less isolated as a result ….
The circle gave me the space I needed to reconnect, and helped me to feel calm and find strength that I needed to face the rest of the week! It made an enormous difference
I definitely think I learnt more from that group than any NCT or antenatal course and when I was down you and the girls picked me up. It’s been so wonderful to find you and have your constant support throughout my pregnancy and my journey into motherhood. The circle of support you’ve created has aided me every step of the way and ensured I’ve kept my sanity throughout this whole crazy time in my life! Plus I’ve made a wonderful group of friends and we now regularly catch up most weeks. Gina.
I attended pregnancy yoga sessions with Mandy whilst I was pregnant and then I enjoyed it so much I joined the Mother and Baby circles. I cannot recommend these sessions enough! My daughter was around 4 weeks old and I was nervous about her crying but Mandy made sure all mothers knew crying was ok and that whatever we needed during the time she was here to support us. During the sessions …. my favourite part was talking to each other, voicing concerns and just us Mums being there for each other. Charlotte
Your honesty and clarity of thought and passion for helping women is extraordinary. So, I think it is important to mention what a big part you played in my motherhood story. Sometimes I would come to your classes & just lie on the floor with my baby & cry. I was OK. Just exhausted, & overwhelmed with love for my baby, & fearful, & grateful and well basically just tired! And you never judged. I think, energised as I was by your positivity, the more salient take-away was the concept that it was OK to not be OK, & it was OK to not be perfect at this.
An absolute must for pregnancy and beyond! Mandy is a wonderful woman and amazing at what she does. I can’t recommend her enough.
The group provided me with knowledge, breathing techniques that were brilliant through labour and a community of mums to share things with. I’d always look forward to sessions each week and can’t wait to return with my son.
It prepared me for things I never thought about, it reassured me about how I may feel within myself with emotions etc especially after my baby is born…
So I know if and when that comes it’s normal and I won’t freak out and think there is something wrong, I will already be prepared for it.
I first attended Mandy’s pregnancy yoga classes when I was pregnant with my first baby, the yoga helped hugely with my pregnancy aches and pains but most of all the support and encouragement from both Mandy and the rest of the group was amazing. Mandy really encourages everyone to engage with each other which wasn’t something that I had experienced in other groups I attended, it meant that I felt safe in asking that daft question or verbalising my fears!
I just want to say thank you for all the kindness and words of wisdom.
I was knocked sideways by the newborn phase and sleep deprivation and your classes were the first place I felt I could just relax with my baby and also have some mental space for myself. You really helped me get back to my old self, both mentally and physically, and I can’t tell you how important that has been.
Mandy and Mother for Life helped me survive sleep deprivation with a newborn, gave me a place to feel safe and cared for, and gave me something to look forward to each week.
The space was non-judgmental and just wonderful. I fully recommend Mandy and Mother for Life to every person in the area who is on the mothering journey.
Thank you for providing the most non-clique mom network that I found that comes with other baby groups and putting me in touch with some moms I will be friends with for a long time.
Your classes gave me something to focus on days/weeks when I felt lonely and a little lost. It helped me so much and I will never forget those days. Positivity actually beams from you and that is lovely as a new mom to be around. Gee
Mandy is such an inspiring woman. She has so much enthusiasm and a caring attitude towards all the women that she works with. She is very intuitive and can put you at ease. Mandy will always go that extra mile to deliver.
She puts her heart and soul into creating space for mothers to unite and combat the epidemic of loneliness that mothers face. This changes not only the mothers life but the child’s as well. Mandy has changed the way I work, the way I think and she is an inspiration.
Mandy is just brilliant. The positive ripples of Mandy’s work should spread through society for generations by healing some of the generational trauma that many families experience.
She genuinely cares about people, and her open, honest and real approach has helped me in a way that nothing else before it has. She is endlessly positive, but in a very authentic and realistic way. She doesn’t tell anyone what to do, she just helps them find their own best way.
Thank you so very much for all your warmth and energy, constant reassurance and positivity and unfailing support all offered in the comforting package of your mother and baby classes ….
Just being in the presence of your genuine caring, positive, bright and sunny way was healing.
I was a very anxious pregnant mum to be, and also very keen to be around other expectant mums and Mandy’s pregnancy yoga classes helped me stay active through pregnancy, gave me relief from anxiety and I met some lovely Mum friends. But I got so much more; advice, real talk, comfort, empowerment, very useful information, contacts and a toolbox of skills to deal with birth and motherhood. Mandy delivers in a gentle and very calm way that instantly is relaxing and gives relief from the overwhelm of pregnancy and motherhood, but she also offers refreshing realism and dry humour which I love.
Mandy is fabulous and really does provide a safe space for you and your baby in her beautiful Pod to talk, be heard, cry, feed, attend to little one, etc. I learnt so much from the Circle, particularly about myself and my approach to motherhood and I’m always referring back to our time when I find myself struggling. I loved having 2 hours each week where I knew me and my girl would be looked after – we could just be, no judgement ❤ It was lovely to meet other mums – you really aren’t alone, and each week is tailored to the needs of the group.
Before attending the Circle I was struggling to come and finding myself with a familiar dark cloud over my head that I experienced with my first child, this worried me. I wanted some help but didn’t know where to find it. I saw Mandy’s instagram post about the Circle and decided to try it. It was the best decision.
After the first session I felt lighter, knowing there were other mums out there who felt like me, who were also struggling. I have never spoken about my postnatal depression to anyone outside of my family before but I felt so comfortable to do so with Mandy and the other mums. Mandy is fantastic, so kind, caring and reassuring.
This is a lot more than just a pregnancy yoga class. It is a place where mums, no matter what stage of pregnancy, can be honest about how they are feeling. The support given by Mandy and the other mums has been invaluable. I have felt my confidence grow more and more. The class is split into 3: catch up; yoga; and then discussion about something pregnancy related.
I have really appreciated the honesty and support given by the group and would 100% recommend. Sarah
I have attended pregnancy yoga, mother and baby yoga, a new mama retreat, a mother’s circle and have also had a 1-1 with Mandy. I wouldn’t have done all of those things if she wasn’t utterly wonderful and amazing at what she does. She’s a lovely person and the quality, integrity and benefits of each of the above is second to none. She holds such a beautiful space for people and is very understanding of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual challenges of motherhood.
The yoga element of your class was so lovely and relaxing. However, most of all, I loved the holistic nature of your class, which I hadn’t expected or realised just how much I needed. Your class created such a safe space. I also loved your additional resources and used these almost every day in the final weeks of my pregnancy. Your audio recordings were imprinted in my mind and I still believe that I got through my labour so well because of the strength your classes empowered in me!
